Tina and Chris

Another nice feedback from last Friday’s wedding shooting in a lighthouse by the Baltic Sea:

Hi Johannes!

Ging mir genauso.

Wir warten also gespannt auf weitere Bilder!

Ciao,
Christian

Old Town Hall

Altes Rathaus Hamburg

Another perfect party location in Hamburg: the Old Town Hall. The specialty for this location is that you can bring your own catering. I can highly recommend the Party All In catering company (ask for Kay Brock), with its very friendly staff and fair pricing. As the name says it already: all inclusive!

Johannes,

we wanted to let you know that we have received our wedding documentation. And we LOVE IT! We all look so happy and relaxed (even if we weren’t). Frankly, all the photos are truly beautiful and perfectly reflect the ambience of our wedding day!

Though we haven’t met before, it felt we knew you already for a long time. As a matter of fact I asked you to find my wedding accessories (which were spread all over the place) or to read the iron instructions for my wedding gown during my morning preparations. You did not hesitate!

We find you have a very nice style, discreet and relaxed, and we want to thank you for accommodating all our wishes on this very special day! Arthur and I had great fun having you and your camera around us all day. With great joy we look at all the timeless images and memories.

All the best from Singapore
Christiane & Arthur

Skylights

skylights

Speaking of customs (see article “something blue”) it is also interesting to talk about what is “en vogue” for weddings in Germany if it comes to games or other happenings during the party day/night.

The latest fashion in my opinion is bringing the skylights from the lonely beaches of Thailand to the cities and venues of Germany for entertaining the bridal couple and guests. Truly it always looks impressive, when these lanterns rise and rise into the dark skies, especially when the guests manage to let them go all at once.
But the danger of it shouldn’t be underestimated as skylights are flying firebombs and could cause serious danger and destruction! If you read the detailed manual carefully you will find out that it is mandatory to inform the air traffic control and other authorities in advance and there are a lot of restrictions and advises…

So please bear in mind: it is a nice idea to bring these lantern to the party, the bridal couple will be very happy, but make sure that the venue is in the right environment that nobody gets harmed.

garter

What would a wedding be without all its customs, traditions and sayings? Not always the bridal couples are happily enjoying them I assume, for instance when they found their bedroom key frozen inside an ice block and the whole room has been redecorated…

But in the case of the tradition “something blue, …” the groom will be delighted when it comes in the shape of a classy garter. What a nice surprise!
I don’t know what this saying actually means, but somehow I like it.

“Something old,
something new,
something borrowed,
something blue,
and a lucky sixpence for your shoe…”

What kind of type are you?

Martina and Antony in color
Martina and Antony black and white

There are only a few photographs where I would say: this has to be a black and white one! Often I prefer color and monochrome gives me a hard time to decide. Is it just a matter of taste?
For instance this one here. What would you prefer? If you ask me, I am really not sure, but would go for color :-)

rising hearts

What an evening and what a moment of joy and happiness! Shortly after sunset they let gas filled balloons rise up to the dark blue skies and attached to each of them were little postcards with good things the guests would do to the bridal couple within this year.

Rain on a wedding day…

rainy wedding

…is good luck! And of course I wish them all the best for their future! It has been a great wedding party and today they are leaving for a three-weeks honeymoon to South Africa. How good could it be? =)

This wedding wasn’t an easy job. Right in the beginning when they’ve booked me, they stated that they didn’t want "classical bridal couple photography" and the bride said, that she didn’t like to be photographed… ok?! Additionally the weather turned out to be cold, gray, rainy and windy.
inside Cafe Engel
So we watched out for a rain pause ran out of the venue and took some more or less "classical" shots, as there was no time to do "non-classical" stuff. At least the umbrella in his hand is not very classical.

But after all, I did it the way they’ve wanted it, taking most of the shots out of situations during the party. No doubt that they will be satisfied with the result.
